Sedgefield Racecourse 24th February 2022

It’s been a long time since I went racing and I really enjoyed this. Only an hour an a quarter or so from home, it’s easy to get to and is a lovely track. Although quite windy and very cold, it was a nice dry and sunny winters racing day.

I love how picturesque this course is, very pleasing on the eye. I’m not entirely sure my photos do it justice, but here they are…..

The grub was nice too. Just imagine on a very cold day being very hungry and having pie and mushy peas put in front of you.

Just what I needed……I have had the fish and chips here too in the past and that was equally tasty.

I don’t always have a bet when I go racing but today I did have a few and made a modest profit

7 Races in total

4 Bets:

1420 Well Cliche finished a well beaten 3rd for me at 13/2, so a small profit from the place bet

1455 Hajey, also backed each way made all and kept finding enough to stay on and win by 1/2 length at 9/2

1530 Passing Secrets ran well enough but was a beaten 2nd when falling at the last

1605 Avithos tracked the leaders most of the way around though did hit a couple and was already well beaten when blundering at the 2nd last.

The other winning bet was a visit to the on course sweet shop which specialises in all the old fashioned stuff. Have a look when you visit.
